CubeX Group designed and built this 48m x 21m x 6m structural steel shed with a 7m lean-to. It houses a private remote-control car racing track. This roof-only structure transforms a rural property into an all-weather venue for racing, skill-building, and RC car fun.
Project Overview
This project is tucked away in the scenic town of Killarney, Queensland. It is one of our most unique builds to date. Commissioned by a dedicated family for their son, the shed offers a spacious, unobstructed layout. The 7m lean-to expands the covered area, creating extra room for pit setups and spectator viewing.
The Challenge
The client needed a large-scale structure to protect the racing track from the elements. It also had to keep maximum headroom and an open interior. In addition, the design had to be durable, low-maintenance, and suit the property’s layout.
Our Solution
We supplied and installed a roof-only steel shed using premium Australian steel, engineered for long-term performance. Built to the Australian Steel Institute standards, the design features a clear run of sheeting per bay and no internal walls, ensuring uninterrupted space across the track. As a result, the shed delivers full weather protection from above without compromising visibility or flow.
