CubeX Group designed and built this 32m (L) x 20m (W) x 6m (H) facility in the Lockyer Valley to keep hay safe, dry, and easy to access year-round. With a 15° pitch roof and wide-span sliding doors, it’s a practical storage solution for farms in the region.
Project Overview
The shed offers 640m² of under-roof coverage, providing plenty of room for hay bales and associated farm equipment. To improve access, the design includes three 8m top-hung sliding doors along one side, plus two additional 5m top-hung sliding doors. This configuration allows the client to load and unload hay quickly from multiple entry points, no matter the time of year.
The Challenge
In this part of Queensland, hay must be stored off the ground and under cover to maintain quality. The client needed a storage shed that could handle seasonal stock fluctuations while allowing trucks and loaders to move freely inside.
Our Solution
We constructed the shed using premium Australian steel and engineered it to Australian Steel Institute standards. The 15° roof pitch helps rainwater run off efficiently, while the open-span interior keeps storage flexible. Furthermore, the combination of door sizes and positions ensures fast, unobstructed access from different directions.
The Outcome
This hay storage shed Brightview project gives the client a weather-resistant, high-capacity storage option that works with their existing farm layout. The sturdy construction and functional design will protect their hay for years to come while supporting smooth loading and unloading during busy periods.
